Interventions at NW municipalities yield positive results─── DANE BEISHEIM 16:14 Fri, 24 Apr 2015
Mahikeng - The Section 139 interventions at both Madibeng local municipality and Ngaka Modiri Molema district municipality in North West have yielded positive results.
This is according to MEC for Local Government and Human Settlements, Collen Maine, who gave feedback to the National Council of Provinces Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs this week.
The main purpose of the interventions was to deal with water and sanitation challenges that have long plagued both municipalities.
Ngaka Modiri Molema in particular experienced serious community protests.
Spokesperson Ben Bole says their decisive action has yielded good results.
