Bomb threat reported at Upington International Airport─── 12:06 Mon, 04 May 2015
Upington - Police in the Northern Cape have confirmed the Upington International Airport received a bomb threat this morning but it turned out to be a false alarm.
Police spokesperson, Olebogeng Tawana, says an Afrikaans speaking woman called the airport this morning at around 04:00 saying a bomb would go off at 05:00 and another at 07:00.
According to Tawana the woman did not indicate where at the airport the bombs would go off. He says authorities were on the scene immediately and monitored the situation throughout the morning.
Tawana says no case has been opened and the incident is being investigated. He has appealed to the public to come forward with information.
