Mosebenzi Zwane reappointed as MEC for FS Agriculture─── SABRINA DEAN 18:45 Mon, 04 May 2015
Bloemfontein - Free State Premier Ace Magashule has reappointed Mosebenzi Zwane as MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, a position Zwane has held previously.
His previous term as Agriculture MEC was shrouded in controversy by the multi-million Rand Vrede Dairy Project, a project which still continues to make headlines.
Magashule also used the opportunity to make several other changes to his cabinet. Sam Mashinini has been moved into Zwane’s former position as MEC for Economic Development, Small Business, Tourism and Environmental Affairs.
Dorah Coetzee has meanwhile also been sworn in as a new MEC and will take over from Mashinini as new Public Works and Infrastructure MEC.
The announcement today, made by Education MEC Tate Makgoe on behalf of Magashule, comes after the agriculture MEC position was left vacant for almost two months when Mamiki Qabathe was elected Speaker of the Provincial Legislature.
Makgoe says there were certain expectations.
