NC Premier in Equality court on Tuesday─── 06:38 Fri, 15 May 2015
Upington - Northern Cape Premier Sylvia Lucas is due in the Equality Court in Upington next Tuesday after a community member laid a charge against her for using an inappropriate racial reference.
The complaint was laid by Stanley Peterson, a member of the National Khoisan Council, after Lucas allegedly used the h-word during a budget speech in 2010.
Peterson said he first approached the SA Human Rights Commission, but when Lucas refused to adhere to the findings of the Commission, he decided to go to court.
Lucas' spokesperson, Bronwyn Thomas, says the Premier will be represented in court on Tuesday.
