Bloemfontein school supporting ill learners─── DANE BEISHEIM 18:33 Thu, 21 May 2015
Bloemfontein - The School Governing Body Chairperson of St Bernard's in Botshabelo in Bloemfontein, Paul Modise, did not want to commit himself to saying whether 120 pupils from the school became ill due to food poisoning.
He added tests had to be conducted to determine what the exact cause was. This follows after the pupils and three teachers became nauseous and developed diarrhoea this morning.
Ten pupils from St Mary's Primary School alsa fell ill.
The learners attended the funeral of Father Daes yesterday - the founder of both schools.
Meanwhile Modise says the school is doing all it can to support the students.
The education department's Howard Ndaba told OFM News this afternoon that 41 of the 61 learners who were hospitalised this morning, have already been discharged.
