Matjhabeng municipality still without equitable share─── 17:49 Tue, 26 May 2015
Bloemfontein - The Matjhabeng municipality – that includes Welkom - has not received its equitable share after almost two months into the new financial year.
The municipality was part of group of 13 municipalities in the province that had its equitable withheld. National Treasury punished more than 50 municipalities countrywide because of their outstanding Eskom and Water Board accounts.
Spokesman for the municipality, Khojane Matutle, says the municipality was however able to pay its current accounts and pay salaries.
