Fedsas still taking NW Education Department to court─── DANE BEISHEIM 13:14 Wed, 27 May 2015
Potchefstroom - The Federation of Governing Bodies for South African Schools (Fedsas) is continuing with its legal action against the North West Department of Education.
This follows after the issuing of dismissal letters to several teachers in the province by the department earlier this month. The teachers were informed that they would be removed from their positions due to budget shortages.
FEDSAS's deputy Jaco Deacon said this constitutes an unlawful reduction of posts.
The department further stated that up to three departmental teaching posts could be abolished at some schools due to these budget shortages. Deacon says this has caused great anxiety amongst teachers about their jobs.
