Hartebeespoort - Outgoing North West DA leader Chris Hattingh has received a Lifetime Achievement award for his contribution to the party's success in the province during his 16 year tenure.
Addressing the party's provincial elective conference at Hartebeespoort Dam, Hattingh thanked his team saying that it was a concerted effort between many individuals that has led to the party's growth over the past few years.
Newly elected national leader Musi Maimane also addressed the gathered members. He said, amongst others things, that President Jacob Zuma's days in office are numbered, making reference to the controversial Nkandla report. He also bemoaned the fact that a Marikana report is not yet forthcoming.
