Bloemfontein - Cosatu in the Free State wants the provincial health department to speed up the National Health Insurance.
Monyatso Mahlatsi says the NHI is one of the issues that was discussed at the third provincial conference this weekend in Bloemfontein.
He says the conference exceeded the federation’s expectations. Mahlatsi explains that the provincial trade union federation resolved to focus on health and safety in the workplace, unemployment, poverty and inequality.
Mahlatsi says the resolutions not finalized at the conference, will be discussed by the provincial executive committee.
The newly elected leadership: Xolisile Nxaiso from Nehawu as provincial chairperson; Mtomzamele Sefuba from Sadtu as deputy chairperson; Mojaesi Monyaki from NUM as treasurer and Monyatso Mahlatsi as provincial secretary.
