Rustenburg man on the run after explosives found in home─── 10:55 Wed, 01 Jul 2015
Rustenburg - Police on Wednesday said they were still searching for a Rustenburg man who went on the run shortly after mine explosives were discovered at the back of his house at the Zakhele informal settlement last week.
"He is still at large and investigations continue," Captain Paul Ramaloko said.
The man's wife, Sophia Makamo, was arrested following the discovery of the explosives.
"Three ready-made blasting cartridges and 40 shock tubes were seized. When asked about the origins of the devices, it is alleged that she implicated her husband," said Ramaloko.
Makamo appeared in the Rustenburg Magistrate's Court on Monday where she was granted R1 000 bail.
Her case returns to court on July 9.
