Malema wants transformed ICC to prosecute Ramaphosa over Marikana─── 05:50 Fri, 03 Jul 2015
Marikana - EFF leader Julius Malema will be in Marikana today to lay criminal charges against Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa for his alleged role in the violence and deaths during the strike at Lonmin's mine in 2012.
Despite the Farlam Commission of Inquiry clearing Ramaphosa of any responsibility for the deaths, Malema said a thorough investigation was needed.
Forty-four people were killed during a strike at Lonmin's mine in August 2012 and the EFF will today lay charges against among others Ramaphosa, then Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa, Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega and Lonmin directors for the deaths.
Malema has also called for a complete overhaul of the International Criminal Court (ICC), saying it should prosecute Ramaphosa as Maryke Vermaak reports.
