Welkom - Two rapists from Bronville were sentenced for a long time at Welkom Regional Court for the rape of a 48 year old woman in Ext 18 Bronville.
 
The first rapist, Kamohelo Daniel Sehlabaka (25), got sentenced to life in prison for rape and five years for theft. The second rapist, Peter Nkomo (21), was sentenced for twenty years in prison for rape and two years for theft.
 
This is after a case was reported by the 48 year old victim; she said that on 14 September 2013, Kamohelo Sehlabaka went to her house at about 4am.
 
He knocked on the door looking for the complainant’s daughter who is his girlfriend. The mother told him that her daughter was not at home. He then told her that he wanted his CD (with music on it).
 
The complainant opened the door for him and allowed him to search for the CD. After finding the CD he went on to play it in the CD player to make sure it was the correct disc.
 
He then whistled and two males then entered the house and closed the door. The three men then began raping the complainant and fled the scene with groceries, a cellphone, a suitcase with clothing and a mink blanket all valued at R2075.
 
Their freedom was short lived as the two accused were arrested on Sunday, 15 September 2013. Kamohelo Sehlabaka and Peter Nkomo were arrested at their homes respectively. The third suspect is still at large as the two accused did not disclose his identity.
