FS cops to appear for alleged hijacking─── 07:17 Mon, 27 Jul 2015
Bloemfontein - Two police officers are expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court today after they allegedly hijacked a taxi driver on Friday night.
Free State police spokesperson, Chaka Marope, says the officials, stationed at Parkweg and Bloemspruit respectively, allegedly hired a meter taxi to take them from Phahameng location to Windmill Casino in the city.
The men argued with the driver, and one of them then held the driver at gunpoint. Marope says there was also a woman in the car, who witnessed the incident. No one was however injured.
Marope says the two officers have been charged with attempted theft of a motor vehicle, attempted theft of cash, as well as the pointing of a firearm.
