Bloemfontein - Central South Africans should brace themselves for more cold weather conditions, with maximum temperatures expected to drop below 15 °Celsius before the weekend.

SA Weather Service's forecaster at the Bloemfontein office, Michael Nethavhani, says a cold front moving along the western coastal areas of the country, pushing a south-westerly wind, will hit the southern parts of the Northern Cape and the south-western parts of the Free State by Thursday.

Maximum temperatures are expected to drop to 10 °Celsius in these parts, including the central and eastern parts of the Free State, extending to North West on Friday.

No snowfall is expected for the rest of the week, nor in the first half of next week, in the central parts of the country.
Nethavhani says temperatures are expected to normalize by Saturday with the mercury rising to a maximum of above 16°Celsius.
