Company to assist unemployed disabled people | News Article

Bloemfontein - Disabled people struggle to get jobs - not because they lack confidence but because some of them grew up discriminated against within their communities.

A new branch for company OnlytheBest-Teleresources has recently been opened in Bloemfontein to assist these unemployed disabled people.

According to the company’s Tumelo Mmusi, it’s this kind of unfair treatment that makes disable people feel that they don’t have potential.

The company visited Mangaung for three days last week to make local disabled people aware of their services. Mmusi says certain circumstances make the disabled feel like they need to depend on other people, and the company wants to change THIS by empowering and training them to be work ready.

Mmusi says government has just passed a new labour law for companies to adhere disability placements. Employment Equity states that companies should have a workforce that consists of 7.5 percent of people living with disabilities.
