Looming municipal crisis discussed in FS legislature─── CATHY DLODLO 15:50 Wed, 26 Aug 2015
Bloemfontein - Opposition parties in the Free State legislature have asked for provincial government intervention into the looming crisis facing two municipalities in the province.
Freedom Front Plus MPL Wouter Wessels says it is time to intervene in the financial and management crisis of the Matjhabeng Local Municipality that includes the towns of Welkom and Virginia.
He says the municipality debt amounts to R1.6 billion while it owes Eskom R500 million and Sedibeng Water Board R1 billion.
OFM News' Cathy Dlodlo reports that the DA also had a mouthful to say about the water crisis at this municipality.
