More work to be done - MEC Komphela─── 15:31 Fri, 02 Oct 2015
Bloemfontein - The Free State MEC for Police, Butana Komphela, says there is still much work to be done in dealing with serious crimes in the province.
This, despite the minister announcing earlier this week that the Free State is the safest province in the country. It was the only province to show a decrease in contact, contact-related, property-related and other serious crimes.
Komphela says murder, hijacking and access to illegal firearms and ammunition remain a problem.
One more murder than the previous year took place.
Six police members were killed and 159 attacked.
