Wepener - A young man was killed and an elderly woman injured in a shooting at their house in Wepener in the Free State on Tuesday night.
Free State police spokesperson, Yanga Ngcukana says two unknown suspects, wearing balaclavas and brown jackets, entered the house through an unlocked door and opened fire on the occupants.
A 28-year old man was shot in the head while an 81-year old woman was wounded in the shoulder. She was taken to Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein.
Ngcukana says police found about seven cartridges at the scene. The two suspects fled on foot.
