No arrests following murder of elderly woman in Riebeeckstad─── REFILWE GAESWE 06:14 Thu, 08 Oct 2015
Welkom - No arrests have yet been made in connection with the murder of an elderly woman at her house in Riebeeckstad, Welkom.
Free State police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, says police are however following up on leads and hope to make an arrest soon.
Sophia Gehring, aged 72, was found murdered in her house in Flora Street on Tuesday night. Her hands were tied with rope, there was a plastic bag over her head and she sustained injuries to her head and face. Gehring was apparently last seen alive on Friday.
