Massive veldfire raging north of Bloemfontein─── 16:11 Thu, 08 Oct 2015
Bloemfontein - A massive fire has erupted north of Bloemfontein, close to the prestigious Oubos Estate.
According to the Mangaung Fire Department about 40 firefighters, in conjunction with Working on Fire, are on the scene. It’s not clear exactly when the veld fire started.
OFM News has reliably learnt that the fire was caused while maintenance work was being done on the electricity network. A spark allegedly set alight the veld and moderate winds lead to the fire spreading.
Mangaung fire department's Braam van Zyl says they hope to have the blaze under control soon.
