Colleagues of DA official praying for her return─── DANE BEISHEIM 18:30 Thu, 08 Oct 2015
Potchefstroom - The colleagues of North West Deputy DA Leader Petro Nel are hoping and praying for her safe return.
This is according to MPL Juanita Terblanche, and follows after the ultra-light aircraft in which Nel was travelling today was reported missing in the mountainous country of Nepal.
Pokhara airport official Kashi Nath Poudel told The Associated Press that the aircraft is able to stay in the air for about two hours, but there has been no contact for four hours.
The plane took off from Pokhara, about 200 kilometers west of the capital, Kathmandu. Search teams have already started to look for her and the Russian pilot after all contact was lost with the aircraft a few hours ago.
Nel was elected DA North West Deputy Leader in 2015.
Nel's husband JC has told OFM News he received a text message from her shortly before she embarked on the sightseeing trip this morning. She was excited about the flight.
Search teams are continuing the search.
