No sign yet of missing DA North West official─── REFILWE GAESWE 08:25 Fri, 09 Oct 2015
Mahikeng - The first search and rescue flight in Pokhara, Nepal, went out this morning in search of the missing plane that was carrying DA deputy leader in North West, Petro Nel.
Former provincial DA leader and current leader in the provincial legislature, Chris Hattingh, says the DA learned yesterday that the ultralight aircraft in which Nel was travelling was reported missing in Nepal. Nel is on holiday in Nepal and went on a sightseeing flight over a mountainous area when all contact was lost with the aircraft.
Hattingh says search teams have resumed the search for Nel and the Russian pilot, who was the only other person on board the aircraft.
Meanwhile Nel's husband, JC, says family members are positive she will be found. Nel said the family had not received any new information since they were informed of his wife's disappearance on Thursday morning.
