Bloemfontein - Centlec has denied that a fire that erupted north of Bloemfontein, near the Oubos Estate, was caused while it was doing maintenance work on the electricity network.
Spokesperson Seipati Setai says Centlec did not undertake any maintenance work in that area yesterday.
OFM News received information that a spark from the maintenance work allegedly set alight the veld and moderate winds lead to the fire spreading. About 40 firefighters, in conjunction with Working on Fire, attended to the blaze.
Setai says Centlec technicians were working at Bayswater yesterday and didn't do any maintenance near Oubos Estate.
