Man killed in accident on N8 in Free State─── 10:52 Sat, 10 Oct 2015
Petrusburg - A man was killed early on Friday night when his vehicle crashed into the back of a small truck on the N8 towards Petrusburg in the Free State.
Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson said paramedics that arrived on the scene approximately 57 kilometres outside of Bloemfontein found the truck burning in a nearby veld.
The driver and passenger of the truck were found walking around on the scene. Upon further assessment paramedics found the driver of the light motor vehicle still trapped in the vehicle. Unfortunately, there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene. The light motor vehicle sustained extensive damage.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known and will be investigated. The driver and passenger of the truck were assessed on scene but declined to be transported to hospital.
