Case against dog fighting syndicate moved to Nigel Regional Court─── 16:12 Tue, 03 Dec 2013
The case against eighteen men arrested in connection with a dog fighting syndicate was moved to from the Tsakane Magistrate's Court to the Nigel Regional Court today. They will appear again on the 20th of January.
NSPCA spokesperson Este Kotze says the organisation is pleased with the decision to transfer the case. She says if convicted an individual may be sentenced to a fine not exceeding R300 000 or a term of imprisonment not exceeding 15 years.
She says lawyers representing the accused had argued against the move.
