Johannesburg - An economist is predicting bad news when the Reserve Bank makes its announcement on the interest rate this afternoon.
Sizwe Nxedlana says the country's weak economy has led to high inflation.
Governor Gill Marcus left the repo rate unchanged at 5-point-5-percent last month, despite the Rand's weak performance.
Nxedlana says the Reserve Bank has delayed increasing the interest rate for as long as possible, but that an increase today is likely to be the first of more to follow.
