Translating is an important profession─── 17:57 Tue, 30 Sep 2014
Translators and interpreters need to be recognized for the critical role they play in bridging gaps between different groups in society, as well as fostering cohesion and nation building.
This is according to Pan South African Language Board Chairperson(PanSALB), Mbulungeni Madiba, who was commenting on International Translation Day celebrations across the world today.
He says the celebration, under the theme “Language Rights: Essential to all Human rights”, is particularly relevant for South Africa where we have 11 official languages.
