Eskom implements stage two load shedding─── 16:44 Fri, 21 Nov 2014
Pretoria - Eskom has implemented stage two of its load shedding schedule, which means more frequent power cuts countrywide.
The blackouts are scheduled to take place throughout the weekend.
Eskom spokesperson Andrew Etzinger says the power cuts are expected to last until 20:00 this evening, and will then recommence tomorrow and again on Sunday at 09:00 in order to build up reserves for the week ahead.
Eskom said the cuts are due to unforeseen technical problems, and depleted water and diesel reserves.
Load-shedding schedules were available to Eskom's direct customers on its website. Customers could also contact their call centre for additional information.
