Johannesburg - Eskom does not anticipate any load shedding for the first part of the week until Wednesday.

During the second part of the week the situation however could change.

Eskom spokesperson, Andrew Etzinger, says the country’s electricity system is tight but under control for now. He says this could change later this week if they are unable to replenish diesel supply to their open gas turbines.

He says the past weekend’s load shedding across the country has helped put the electricity supplier in a good position.
Etzinger apologised to customers for the inconvenience and thanked them for their patience.

He says Eskom depends on the support of businesses and consumers to use electricity sparingly at all times.
