Ramaphosa denies ANC didn't want parly peace accord─── 07:55 Tue, 25 Nov 2014
Johannesburg - Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has denied opposition parties claims that a parliamentary peace deal was called off because the ANC didn't want it.
Ramaphosa says the deal was called off largely because the Democratic Alliance (DA) tabled a motion to censure President Jacob Zuma in the National Assembly last week.
The DA's Mmusi Maimane says it’s clear the deputy president was overruled at the ANC’s National Executive Committee meeting.
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema in turn said the move was about internal ANC politics.
Yesterday's meeting was a second bid to broker a peace deal for parliament.
