Edu dept sorting university applications stuck at Post Office due to strike | News Article

Johannesburg - The Department of Higher Education says the process of sorting university applications stuck at the Post Office will get underway soon.

Spokesperson Khaye Nkwanyana says the department has been in discussions with tertiary institutions over plans to accommodate prospective students who applied on time but whose applications have not reached the institutions due to the post office strike.

Postal workers have been on strike for almost four months demanding better wages and improved employment conditions.

Nkwanyana says those who applied on time must be patient with the process.
