Johannesburg - Eskom says two of the four generators that had stopped working yesterday were struck by lightning while the other two had mechanical or technical problems.
Spokesperson, Khulu Phasiwe, says all four generators are functional again today and the system has largely been stabilized.
He says the power utility needs to build up its diesel and water reserves, which it had used for the past few days as an alternative supplier.
The generators had stopped working at three different power stations yesterday.
Phasiwe says there is still a risk of rolling blackouts but this is low.
