Excitement in Bloemfontein as Kovsie Rag gets underway─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 11:43 Sat, 31 Jan 2015
Bloemfontein - The annual Kovsie Rag Community Service procession is underway in Bloemfontein and for most first year students participating it's been a tiresome but exciting experience building the nine floats in the procession today.
A first year student from the female hostel Madelief, Mafijone Mokoena, says she is tired but it was worth making a difference for charity.
The procession is currently in Heidedal where food parcels are being distributed at the Twin City Centre to community members. Westline Aviation is also expected to give a flight show. All the children in Heidedal are enjoying the excitement.
Students will join the procession which will continue this evening at 18:00 from the Bloemfontein Campus to showcase the floats.
It ends at Chevrolet Park with a music show. Float winners are expected to be announced prior to that. This year’s theme is all about video games and city icons.
