Day two of Cosatu meeting underway without Vavi─── 12:18 Tue, 03 Mar 2015
Johannesburg - Day two of Cosatu's central committee meeting continues in Johannesburg today despite the absence of its General Secretary Zwelinzima Vavi and five unions.
The gathering started yesterday and is discussing a range of issues including the unity of the federation.
Vavi wrote to Cosatu on Sunday saying he will not be part of the meeting.
The five unions have reportedly said they will not participate until the expelled union Numsa is reinstated. Numsa was expelled for the violation of Cosatu’s constitution.
Cosatu president Sdumo Dlamini told OFM News this morning that the federation is not suprised by Vavi and the unions' decision. He has, however, appealed to them to attend the meeting.
