Oscar Appeal: NPA mum on correctional supervision─── 11:47 Fri, 13 Mar 2015
Pretoria - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says it cannot comment on the possibility of Oscar Pistorius being out on correctional supervision when his appeal in heard in the Supreme Court of Appeal.
NPA spokesperson Velekhaya Mgobhozi said the state should be ready to argue its case by the end of May. Pistorius will become eligible to apply for correctional supervision in the next few months.
Pistorius today lost a court bid to prevent the State from appealing his conviction.
Judge Thokozile Masipa said to entertain the application would be tantamount to reviewing her own decision.
The paralympian's lawyers wanted to appeal Masipa's decision granting the State leave to appeal his conviction in the Supreme Court of Appeal.
In September, Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide for shooting dead his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
