Cape Town - Voice calling on instant messaging service WhatsApp is now available to all Android users.
Previously, WhatsApp voice calling was only available to Android users who were invited to use the calling service.
But the latest update of the WhatsApp app, version 2.12.19, allows users to use the service without needing an invite, according reports published by the likes of Android Police and The Verge.
Users can download this version of the app from the official WhatsApp website or from this APK mirror site.
The 2.12.19 version of the app is not yet available in the Google Play store. So, to download the app from the above two links, ensure that Unknown Sources is enabled in your phone's Security settings.
Also, beware of links promising WhatsApp upgrades, as these could be scams or malware downloads.
WhatsApp as an instant messaging service has grown in popularity with over 700 million users around the world.
