Amnesty International SA: Xenophobia violates human rights─── 06:52 Thu, 16 Apr 2015
Johannesburg - Amnesty International South Africa has described the recent xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals as gross violation of human rights.
So far five people have reportedly been killed in KwaZulu-Natal in the attacks.
In Johannesburg police acted swiftly after a message circulated that foreign owned shops will be looted. Police are maintaining a strong presence in the city.
Amnesty International South Africa Executive Director Secel’Impilo Shange-Buthane says the situation is worrying and perpetrators must be dealt with.
