SAHRC impressed by King Zwelithini’s call for calm─── 12:51 Tue, 21 Apr 2015
Bloemfontein - The Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) says it's impressed that Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini has called for calm, following days of xenophobic attacks in some parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
Zwelithini called an Imbizo yesterday following reports that he is the one who fuelled violent attacks on foreign nationals.
The king told a 10 000 strong crowd at the Moses Mabida Stadium in Durban that previous reports that he said foreigners should "go back to their countries" were distorted.
Chairperson of the SAHRC, Lawrence Mushwana, says the king must be commended.
