Fedsas lock horns with Gauteng Education─── DANE BEISHEIM 10:15 Tue, 26 May 2015
Johannesburg - The Federation of School Governing Bodies is currently applying for an urgent application in the High Court in Johannesburg against Gauteng Education's plan to introduce parallel medium instruction at several schools.
Fedsas CEO Paul Colditz argues that the plan is contrary to the statutory rights of school governing bodies to control language and admission policy at schools.
MEC Panyaza Lesufi maintains that language is a smokescreen used to obstruct non-racialism.
Colditz says should the education department implement the plan, it will have far reaching implications for single medium schools.
