Port Elizabeth - Danny Jordaan has officially been elected the new executive mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay.
His election was met with jubilation by ANC members who packed the Nangoza Jebe Hall in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, this morning.
Jordaan's election was made possible by a full quorum of ANC councillors after opposition parties boycotted today's proceedings.
Jordaan is expected to steer the ANC through the choppy waters leading up to next year's local government election.
