Port Shepstone - The Port Shepstone Magistrate's Court has given the man who knocked over Olympic cyclist Burry Stander, an effective three years behind bars.
Njabulo Nyawose was convicted of culpable homicide in April and was also found guilty of failing to adhere to road signs.
In handing down her sentence Magistrate Charmaine Barnard said she took into consideration Nyawose's personal circumstances, the seriousness of the offence and the public's interest.
Stander was on a training ride in Shelley Beach on the South Coast when the incident occurred in January 2013.
