Ramaphosa won't respond to demands he face charges for Marikana─── 07:23 Fri, 03 Jul 2015
Johannesburg - Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will not respond to demands that he face criminal charges for his alleged role in the deaths at Marikana.
His spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said the Farlam Commission of Inquiry's finding regarding Ramaphosa is clear.
The party intends laying charges against him, then police minister Nathi Mthethwa and police commissioner Riah Phiyega, among others, in Marikana on Friday.
The report, released on June 25, cleared Ramaphosa of any involvement in the deaths and violence at Lonmin's Marikana mine in August 2012.
This comes after the Economic Freedom Fighters said on Thursday that Ramaphosa had a hand in the decisions taken on August 16 2012, when police shot dead 34 mineworkers.
