SA does not have the capacity to provide clean water to the majority of SA─── 11:13 Thu, 30 Jul 2015
Pretoria - Some scientists believe South Africa does not have the capacity to provide clean water to the majority of the population.
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research says the country has not invested enough in adequate purifying mechanisms over the past 20 years.
The council's Marius Claasen says less than 70% of water from South Africa's major rivers meet the required purification management standards.
Claasen says the inability to purify large amounts of water could see money leaving the pockets of consumers.
