Cape Town - The head of the Parliamentary Protection Services, Zelda Holtzman, and her deputy Motlatsi Mokgatla have been placed on precautionary suspension on full pay.
Spokesperson Estelle Randall says they were suspended with immediate effect to allow the investigation of alleged security breaches at Parliament in “an environment free of any perception of possible bias”. The investigation should be completed by the end of August.
Randall says the suspensions do not in any way constitute a judgement or penalty.”
Yesterday the EFF released a statement saying that Julius Malema’s office had been broken into and that valuable documents, including Malema’s travel and security information, had been stolen. The party said it suspected that the robbery was an inside job.
