Ebola vaccine results positive─── DANE BEISHEIM 08:34 Sat, 01 Aug 2015
Bloemfontein - Preliminary results suggest that a vaccine against Ebola has led to 100% protection and could transform the way the deadly virus is tackled.
There were no proven drugs or vaccines against the virus at the start of the largest outbreak of Ebola in history, which began in Guinea in December 2013.
The World Health Organization says the findings, published in the Lancet, could be a "game-changer". Experts say the results are "remarkable".
Humanitarian Policy Advisor for Doctors Without Borders, Jens Pedersen says while the preliminary results of the vaccine are really encouraging, more analysis and research is needed.
