Portfolio Committee welcomes President's inquiry─── THANDI XABA 09:39 Sat, 22 Aug 2015
Bloemfontein - The Portfolio Committee on Police has welcomed the announcement by President Jacob Zuma to institute a commission of inquiry into the fitness of Police Commissioner, Riah Phiyega to serve as National Commissioner.
The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee, Francois Beukman says they are in full support of the president’s decision and will await the outcome of the process announced by Zuma as well as the report of the Chairperson of the Board of Inquiry.
Beukman further says in terms of the Police Act, the report will also be submitted to the Portfolio Committee on Police for its consideration.
