Ramaphosa announces deal between SA and Japan─── 11:27 Thu, 27 Aug 2015
Pretoria - Forty-nine people will be sent to Japan to be trained in various sectors as part of the Asian country's commitment to supporting South African development.
Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa wrapped up a visit to Japan this week, promoting political and economic relations.
Ramaphosa says they've also asked Japan to facilitate the training of artisans and welders. He says growing the economy, investment and skills development are important to such relationships.
Meanwhile defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula is expected to brief the media tomorrow about a plane owned by the Gupta family which was used to transport Ramaphosa and a South African delegation to Japan.
This follows a report that the defence department hired the Bombardier Aerospace, registered to Westdawn Investments and owned by the Gupta family. President Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane is a director at Westdawn. The jet was reportedly hired through a government-managed contract with service provider ExecuJet.
