Johannesburg - An estimated amount of R3.5 billion has been invested by the trade union Solidarity for a safer South Africa for Afrikaners.
According to BusinessTech, this 'Helpmekaar Plan' will assist in building a private university for Afrikaans students, including millions allocated for scholarships; a language centre; plans for community safety; poverty alleviation; technical training; heritage conservation and history projects; and many other plans to secure the Afrikaans culture.
BusinessTech reported that the plan will also create a digital museum for Afrikaans history and will provide for the promotion of Afrikaans in all societal sectors.
The Solidarity group will not be financed by large state funds but rather by small contributions from ordinary people.
