Bloemfontein - The Proteas netball teamtook a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series against Scotland.
 
South Africa's beat the Scottish 56-29 in the first Test at the Bellville Velodrome, in Cape Town; with the Proteas taking a 26-12 lead into the half-time break.
 
The fourth quarter turned out to be the Proteas' most prolific passage of play as they responded with two goals every time the Scots managed to breach their defence.
 
Free State Crinums and Proteas captain, Maryka Holtzhausen said after the match she was delighted with the win; however, there is always room for improvement.
 
Holtzhausen also praised debutants, Lenize Potgieter and Phumza Maweni for the stellar performances.
 
The Free State’s Adele Niemand, who was named as the player of the match, feels they will be even better in the second Test. 
 
The second Test will be played tonight at the seven o’clock, at the Velodrome.
