Bloemfontein - The South African men’s hockey sides’ chances of reaching the final of the Investec Cup in London have been dealt a major blow.
The Proteas lost their second match in two days at the tournament being used to prepare for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow later this month.
On Wednesday, the South Africans lost 4-2 Ireland.
Host, England, who are also the tournament favourites beat South Africa 7-0 last night, after leading 5-0 at half-time.
Captain, Austin Smith said it was an exceptionally tough match against the world number fives.
He conceded that they were outclassed by the host at the National Hockey Stadium in the English capital city.
The side have an opportunity to set the record straight when they face Scotland at 10:45 tomorrow morning.
